NFBOW (week four)

NFBOW Week 4

(nonconsecutive)

I’m thrilled to the marrow because I got a last minute volunteer to be my NFBOW! For those who are new, I shall fill you in quickly—if quickly is now defined as “in a long and drawn-out manner.”

NFBOW means “Nameless, Faceless, Business Owner of Week.” I guess I could have called it “NFBOOW” but I felt that the second O, which represents the word “of,” wasn’t that necessary. (I told you this could turn into a dissertation.)

I’ve been loaning out my column space to those who I feel have not had much of a say or a voice in our current situation. This will be the fourth person to be conned into it—I mean to volunteer, to step in.

I gather the information from him/her and then aid in the composition. I do not divulge who the person is, nor do I indicate what kind of business he/she/they operate. Only if they give me permission, would I do such a thing. (The boss doesn’t even know.)

If you would like to be my next NFBOW, please email me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or telephone me. I’m in “the book.” Yes, THAT book!

Without further ado—stop exhaling in relief, here is the fourth NFBOW.

I like working!

- By ?????

Let me begin by saying that I like working. I especially enjoy interacting with people on a daily basis. That is something that I truly miss.

As far as offering a clean and sterile environment, I must do that anyway, due to the nature of my particular trade. I’m also licensed, which means that I have to follow a certain protocol in order to remain in business.

If I were to open without the state “allowing” me to, I could lose my insurance and my license!

I’ve been getting ready to return by having Plexiglas screens made and carrying out other safety measures.

I just now got my unemployment and I filed for it right around March 17! (It is now May 14.) If it weren’t for my Social Security, I would really be hurting now and I know I’m not the only one.

Another thing that is pretty upsetting is that I was still required to pay my quarterly taxes by April 30. I’m not sure how they expect some people to be able to do that if their incomes have been taken away from them.

The bottom line is that I’m healthy and I want to work! If this is what retirement is, then I don’t want any part of it...

I’m back to put in my closing, which isn’t super thrilling by any stretch. Here you go.
