A depressing Memorial Day column

[The opinions expressed herein do not necessarily reflect those of the publisher. They are mine.]

Generally speaking, this is the issue in which I place my annual column concerning the difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day. I will just give you the basics here but am not going to put the whole thing in this time. I’d like you to instead take the time that you’d usually spend reading my blather, and head over to an article about face masks.

This whole deal of having to wear a mask for an event in a park is right up there with the outdoor smoking bans they started implementing when I began my journey here at the paper, all those years ago.

Also, in terms of what I call “forced physical separation,” (most call it “social distancing”), there is literally NO scientific proof that this helps anyone to not “catch” something. There is NO conclusive evidence to support such shenanigans, is my point.

Is anyone raising an eyebrow at this time or am I the only one going around looking like the Pink Panther these days? (Remember how his eyebrows oft’ floated above his head?)

Unfortunately I caught part of one of a briefing the other day on the “news.” I was strolling through the kitchen, no doubt, as Perpetual (fiance of a million eons) was glued to the brain-cell-killing-box atop the freezer in the kitchen. (Most call it a TV.) A doctor or some other person with close ties to BIG PHARMA and/or The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, strolled up behind the lectern to say something pertaining to the fact that Trump is not wearing a mask.

He began by saying something like, “We have a wonderful tool that is just as good as a mask...” At this point I was certain he’d bring up the body’s own support system but I was sadly mistaken. Instead, this person mentioned the merits of forced physical separation! Have any members of the “task force” MENTIONED anything pertaining to the human support or immune system? HOLD ME.

OK, here is the basic overview of the whole Memorial Day/Vet Day thing and then I will drop the link here for you to read about the mask scenario.

I found this on the net (many years ago) on a site called Chosen Fast. I don’t know much about the website other than I discovered this content and it seemed to say this better than I could; so here you go:

‘Many people confuse Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Memorial Day is a day for remembering and honoring military personnel who died in the service of their country, particularly those who died in battle or as a result of wounds sustained in battle. While those who died are also remembered on Veterans Day, Veterans Day is the day set aside to thank and honor ALL those who served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for their service, to acknowledge that their contributions to our national security are appreciated, and to underscore the fact that all those who served - not only those who died - have sacrificed and done their duty.’

Now for the article. The credentials of the gent from whom the author got his information are below. Here is the link: https://www.citizensforfreespeech.org/blaylock_face_masks_pose_serious_risks_to_the_healthy

Again, here is another link to a site that has been keeping us posted on the latest in terms of the alleged pandemic: https://cvpandemicinvestigation.com/

PS - I do have a person lined up for the NFBOW (Nameless-Faceless-Business-Owner-of-Week) for the first paper in June. Stay tuned for more.
