Want to know what America’s favorite book is? You can check out the great American read on pbs.org. and see the favorite out of 100 books chosen. Our own contest running here until 9/22/18 is over. Stop by Springboro Public Library to see if your vote was chosen as the winning ticket. The prize is tickets to Oil Creek and Titusville Railroad. Our patron’s favorite book will be announced here as well.

Springboro Library holds craft workshops on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month. Join us on Oct. 4th for embroidery hoop craft and on Oct. 18th for a fall decor craft.

Along with crafts, “SPL” will also be having “Book Chat” on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Come in and share your favorite old and new books. No specific books will be assigned. This club is for those who want to compare notes with other book lovers and possibly get tips on new authors who they have not read before.

We are always updating our selections here. Our new books are all up front. This week we are featuring best selling authors, Barbara Delinsky and John Sanford . If you have suggestions, let us know. We are always happy to search for your requests. In addition, feel free to suggest crafts or ideas for activities. Teens come in and tell us your requests too!

Check out magazines, movies, music CDs, play aways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. In addition, our children’s corner features books, games and toys. Miss Kortney has made good progress marking the juvenile books with the AR level. We hope that by doing this kids will have an easier time finding a book at the appropriate reading level. Miss Kortney has been an added blessing to the library.

Stone Memorial Library is open Monday & Friday 1-6, Tuesday & Thursday 9-6, and Saturday from 9-1. You can reach us at 587-2142. Stop in and see us.
