Springboro Library happenings

SPRINGBORO - We are ready for Fall! Come in and see our current selections for all things September.

Our library features 26 different magazines and 2 newspapers. Stop in to check out any of your favorites. Or sit and read and enjoy the sunshine in our front window.

Want to participate in “ The Great American Read”? We will be holding our very own competition in conjunction with the online voting. Many of these classic and most read books are on display here. You can check them out and vote here. Or go to pbs.org/greatamericanread and vote there.

Springboro Library will resume bi-monthly craft nights on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month. Fall workshops include greeting card creation, bead craft and fall decor crafts.

Along with craft nights, “SPL” will also be having “Book Chat” on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. This club is all about sharing your favorite old and new books. No specific books will be assigned. We will be comparing notes with fellow book lovers as well as tips on new authors of favorite fiction.

We are always updating our selections here. Our new books are all up front and feature best selling authors and also popular non-fiction. This week, we are displaying books from John McCain, Jeremy Dronfield’s “The Stone Crusher”, Zora Neale Hurston’s “Barracoon” and our top fiction authors as well.

If you have suggestions for books or craft events, let us know. We are always searching for new things to entertain. Teens, we want to hear from you!

Check out magazines, movies, music CDs, play aways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

Our children’s corner features books, games and toys. Join us for pre-school story hour on Saturday mornings at 10 am and at 11 am for kids crafts. Recently, the kids have been enjoying a game called “Hullabaloo” with Ms. Ginger. Come check it out.

CONNEAUTVILLE - Welcome September! Time to get back into our familiar routines. The library will begin Story time on Tuesday, September 18, at 10:00 a.m. Preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to join. Miss Julie will be ready with stories, games, music, and snacks. Miss Kortney will be joining her to add to the fun! Storytime is a great way to introduce young ones to all that the library has to offer. Hope to see you there!

Book Club is set to begin on Thursday, September 20, at 6:30 p.m. If you are interested in connecting with your neighbors, this is a good way to meet them. Besides discussing the book selection, we get a chance to interact with others. The book of choice for September is “Too Late To Say Goodbye” by Ann Rule.

The library is looking to add more programming for patrons this fall. Some of the selections will be focused on finances, resume building, and a scavenger hunt for the youth/teens. Our hope is that you will come out and see what the library has to offer. Our desire is for the library to become more community centered and to make programming available that will enhance your life. We welcome any suggestions you may have.
