Springboro Library happenings

SPRINGBORO - As the leaves begin to change colors, our schedule of events will also change for fall! Saturday hours will change as well.

Our craft workshops will be scheduled on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month! We have planned adult and kid’s crafts including decor for your holiday dinner table. Most of our workshops are free unless specified.

Help choose America’s favorite book in September. “The Great American Read” features 100 books to choose from. See your local library for the list or check online at pbs.org/greatamericanread. Then stop by your local library for the book. The favorite book will be announced on the big day of books on September 15th from 10 am - 3 pm at Blasco Memorial Library, Erie.

Springboro Library will feature 4 historic windows this fall. If you haven’t stopped by in a while, come see the sleigh donated by the Eighmy family. The Graves and Eighmy Co. was a factory here in Springboro back in the mid 1800s through 1911. The sleigh fit right into one of our windows. Other historical displays will include photos from the Albro pickle factory, the Bessemer Railroad, and for September, a vintage school house display with antique desks. Also, come check our displays all over the library for Fall themed books.

See the main desk for updates on our schedule for conversation cafe’ and book club.

We have more than books! Check out magazines, movies, music CDs, play aways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. In addition, our children’s corner features books, games and toys. Join us for pre-school story hour on Saturday mornings at 10am and for kids activities at 11am.

Remember to LIKE us on facebook and check out our website. The website offers a variety of reference materials as well as e-books and free access to universal classes for over 500 subjects!
