Springboro Library happenings

SPRINGBORO - It’s fair, fall and back to school time. Come in and see our current selections for all things September related.

Want to participate in “ The Great American Read”? We have many of the books on display. You can check out pbs.org/greatamericanread and vote there. Or stop by Springboro Public Library for the list and vote here! Our patron’s favorite book will be announced on the big day of books on September 15th.

Springboro Library is featuring 4 historic windows this fall. In addition to our Graves and Eighmy sleigh window, other historical displays include the Bessemer Railroad display, a vintage school house display with antique desks and a window featuring a photo-history of the Albro pickle factory. Also, come check our displays all over the library for Fall themed books.

Along with craft nights on the 1st and 3rd of every month, “SPL” will also be having “Book Chat” on the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Come in and share your favorite old and new books. No specific books will be assigned. This club is for those who want to compare notes with other book lovers and possibly get tips on new authors who they have not read before.

We are always updating our selections here. Our new books are all up front and feature best selling authors such as Danielle Steel and James Patterson. If you have suggestions, let us know. We are always happy to search for your requests. In addition, feel free to suggest crafts or ideas for activities. Teens come in and tell us your requests too!

Check out magazines, movies, music CDs, play aways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. In addition, our children’s corner features books, games and toys. Join us for pre-school story hour on Saturday mornings at 10 am and for kids activities at 11 am.
