Springboro Library happenings

SPRINGBORO - Spring brings more events and activities to the library! We are planning crafts, a community banquet and our summer reading program is in the works!

The library is the best place to get out of the rain. This month we celebrated Mother’s Day with a window featuring books that described Moms. And the Girl Scouts came and decorated a window featuring their activities. Family craft workshops continue on the third Thursday of every month. Most workshops are free and fun for all.

May is national physical fitness and sports month. Stop by to peruse the books on display or on the shelves! Our selection includes everything from books on running and weight training to books on soccer and rock climbing. This month we will also feature our large selection of gardening books.

The library has more to offer than ever! We have more than books! Check out magazines, movies, music CDs, play aways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. In addition, our children’s corner features books, games and toys.

Join us for pre-school story hour on Saturday mornings at 10 am and for kids activities at 11 am.

Remember to LIKE us on facebook and check out our website. The library offers free access to universal class for over 500 subjects now!

For more information on any events or activities, please call the library at 814-587-3901 or visit our website www.ccfls.org/springboro or check out the latest news on facebook. The library is located at 110 South Main Street in Springboro, PA.

CONNEAUTVILLE - We are busy getting ready for our Summer Challenge which will be beginning in June. The theme is “Libraries Rock”. There are many exciting events planned. We will be meeting at Lord Mason Park in Conneautville. Look for a full schedule in the coming weeks.

We had a very interesting and informative book club meeting with Amy Bovaird. She shared with us how she was able to overcome many obstacles despite her loss of sight and hearing. We were very impressed with all of her adventures. She doesn’t let her disabilities limit her. She even climbed Mt. Fugi! Thank you to everyone that came out and a big thanks to Amy for sharing.

Tuesday was our last story time until the fall when school begins. It has been a wonderful year of stories, activities, and gaining social skills each week. We appreciate Miss Julie so very much and we are also thankful for Miss Kortney. She has been a tremendous help this year. We are now focusing on our Summer Challenge. We have exciting activities planned. Look for our schedule next week and be sure to sign up.

Our front steps have finally been replaced! We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our patrons. Thank you for your patience.

As the school year comes to a close we would like to encourage families to come to the library through the summer months. In addition to checking out books, we have a nice supply of building materials and puzzles available to provide free family fun.

Stone Memorial Library is open Monday & Friday 1-6, Tuesday & Thursday 9-6, and Saturday 9-1. We are located at 1101 Main Street, Conneautville and you can reach us at 587-2142.
