Judy Truett game in print

As I prepare to reformat a recent game from my YouTube show for this column, I’m more delirious than usual—if you can imagine that. Actually, that is why I’m using a game this week as I don’t think I could conjure any sort of thought, let alone a rant or rave, due to being feverish. Yes, I’m typing these words for sympathy so go ahead and whip out those violins at this time.

For those who are new to this column, on occasion I throw one of my games in this space in print form. I generally can’t fit the entire game because there are generally 35 questions, so I use about 20, depending on space. Sometimes I use a lot of visual aids on the actual live show so clearly I cannot utilize those in the columns. This game had more than usual, so I’m not even sure I will get to the 20 question point but I shall try.

This one is from a recent game at which time we celebrated a woman named Judy who was born in 1943 on January 26. Some of the questions are related to those dates and others have to do with her life in general. The answers will be listed at the end. (As usual, forgive awkward sentence structure.)

One: Rumor has it that this person, who shares a birthday with Judy but was born in 1880, exited the womb and exclaimed, “I shall return!”

Two: Known for having a line of food and for being an actor of acclaim, this person also shares a birthday with Judy but was born in 1935.

Three: On January 26 1945, the Soviets liberated THIS place located in Poland.

Four: The Tilman Act of January 26, 1907 was an Act to prohibit ___________ from making money contributions in connection with political elections. With Citizens United, among others, being enacted, this is GONE totally and unfortunately.

Five: Of these choices, for what reason would a person make an appointment with Dr. Brian Weiss: 1) Cancer since he’s an Oncologist 2) Bone issues since he is a D.O. Or 3) For the purposes of hypnotherapy since he is a psychiatrist.

Six: Fill in the blanks from this Crosby Stills and Nash song: “Come to me now and rest your head for just five minutes, everything is good, such a cozy room, the windows are illuminated by the sunshine through them, fiery gems for you, only for you ______ _______ is a very, very, very fine...”

Seven: (I’m going to turn a visual aid into a question in print. I know, I’m quite brilliant—fever must do me some good.) Which breed of horse can be described as “dish faced” and has one less vertebrae than other breeds?

Eight: Judy dwells on the edge of the Gila Wilderness. She had a horse that carried her all over the beautiful landscape in her region. The horse has a name that puts one in the mind of a movie in which Burt Reynolds was “East bound and down, loaded up and truckin’.”

Nine: BONUS QUESTION: This was supplied by Perpetual. Who was the host of the syndicated nature show Wild America?

Ten: Judy took a cruise to this country which is noted as being the most sexually active nation on earth (as of 2019). Now that’s an occasion for plate smashing!

Eleven: What is the first and most common note with which music books begin, in terms of teaching a new student piano?

Twelve: The common grand piano has this many keys, of these choices: A) 92 B) 88 or C) 90.

Thirteen: Of these choices, for what does OBE stand? 1) Ovation in Berlin Encore 2) Over Bermuda Expanse 3) Out of Body Experience.

Fourteen: Of these choices, for what does NDE stand: 1) Near Death Experience 2) Nudest Destination Exit 3) National Disaster Emergency.

Sixteen: New Mexico has more of these per capita than any other state, of these choices: 1) PhD’s 2) Undocumented workers 3) People living below poverty line.

Seventeen: BONUS QUESTION supplied by “Watcher.” Located in Goodwood, West Sussex, England, a few of this companies products are named Ghost, Wraith and Dawn. Since 1906 its name has been instantly recognized internationally.

I think that’s all I can muster. I even used a couple of bonus questions to fill up space due to my wild and crazy use of visual aids this last time. I hope you did well.
