Making Memories

Have you ever known someone who’s always there for you? Maybe several faces pop into your mind when you consider this.

When you were a baby, if you were blessed enough to have your mom in your life, she fed you and changed your diapers and met all your needs as only a mother could. She was there for you.

When you made your first friend, who became your best friend, he or she made you laugh or understood you as no one else could. You made memories with him while playing Marco Polo in the pool. She gave you a bag of red, white, and pink M&Ms on Valentine’s Day because your boyfriend broke up with you the weekend before. You organized her baby shower or he took you parasailing. These are the moments, the experiences you never forget. These are the people you love, because they’re there for you when you need them most, and you’re there for them.

Now that you’ve got him or her in mind, think about how you can be there for your friend. Maybe she’s already on your heart. Message or call her. Do it today. Connect emotionally with your friend and ask yourself what you can do to make his day brighter, how you can make her smile.

Did I stir an old memory that made you smile? I hope so. The memory is of an experience, and experiences are what makes life memorable.

Call or message the friend you’re visualizing right now. Make plans, and then make memories together. Some cold February day in the future you just might remember this day and the memories you made with a beloved friend, and you’ll smile.

Have a wonderful week. Blessings!
