Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE - Stone Memorial Library is open once again for limited indoor service! Our hours of operation are as follows: Mondays & Fridays - 1-6pm; Tuesdays & Thursdays - 9am-6pm; Saturdays 9am-1pm. We are located at 1101 Main Street in Conneautville, PA. Masks will be required for entry into the library. If you do not have a mask with you, we have some available at the door. Appointments for computer use is recommended. Computer use will be limited to a maximum of 45 minutes, and we ask that our patrons try to limit their materials browsing time as well. We also graciously ask that our patrons continue to respect social distancing while in the library. If you have any further questions about our service changes, please feel free to give us a call at 814-587-2142. In spite of the limitations, we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

We ask that our patrons continue to use our overnight book drop on the side of the library building to return materials. This makes it easier for our librarian to move the materials into quarantine. All library materials are quarantined for 7 days or 1 week after they are pulled from the book drop. Due to this, some items may not be checked in and returned to the shelves for a few days after they are returned to the book drop. You will not be charged any fines due to our need to quarantine.

While we are still not able to facilitate any in-person programming due to social distancing requirements, our Virtual Storytime with Ms. Julie continues! Log on to Facebook on Tuesdays at 10 am to watch as Ms. Julie reads stories, sings songs, and makes crafts geared towards preschoolers and their families. Hop on over to our Facebook page - http://facebook.com/StoneMemorialLibraryConneautville - or our website - http://stone.ccfls.org - for more information.

Along with the crafting portion of our Virtual Storytime, we will have Take It and Make It kits available for our patrons to take home at no charge. Each week we will have all needed materials in a bag along with their instructions. They really are quite the hit, so be sure to stop in and get them as soon as you can after storytime!

For those who are now faced with working from home, or have decided to take the home or cyber school route, we have many resources available to support you. Number one is our mobile WiFi hotspots! A hotspot is a device that allows you to create a WiFi signal out of a mobile connection. We have five available to check out at no charge for our patrons who are 18 years of age or older with library cards that are in good standing.

Your library card also gives you access to a number of online resources available through the Crawford County Federated Library System (CCFLS) and the POWER Library. Since September, our patrons are able to access hundreds of magazines digitally at http://ccfls.rbdigital.com - all you need to do is login with your library card number!

As always, if you have any questions about these or other online resources, please let us know. We also would love to hear from you about what materials would be most helpful to you during this time. We would like to thank our community and our patrons for their unwavering patience and support during this unprecedented time. We look forward to seeing you soon

The Community News is also now available for purchase here at our library! New copies are put out each Monday, ensuring Conneautville has access to their local news source. Pick up your own paper copy at Stone Memorial today!

Springboro Library happenings

- A Gold Level Library -

SPRINGBORO - Come check out all that’s available for fall at “SPL”! We are committed to bringing you all seasonal favorites as well as some new titles. Our windows out front typically display seasonal books that are all available for checkout. If you see a book you like, feel free to ask a librarian to get it for you.

New books this month include: “One last Lie” by Paul Doiron, “The Fixed Stars” by Molly Wizenberg, “Devoted” by Dean Koontz and “The Grim Reader” by Kate Carlisle. There are new books for kids and teens as well as new movies. Visit www.springboro.ccfls.org to see a list of new books and movies. Some are also displayed on our Facebook page.

Thanks to all the kids who stopped by for Halloween to show us their costumes before heading over to “Trunk or Treat, Thursday at the park! This year we sent our candy bags with the Volunteer Fire Dept. to cut down on crowding and make 6 foot distancing easier.

With current Covid restrictions, we have had to give up a lot of our community outreach projects. Our annual Soup & Sandwich Supper has been cancelled. However, we are still doing our annual Holiday tree decorating. Local clubs or businesses who wish to participate must follow Covid restrictions. Call for more info. December 5th is the deadline to sign up. The first trees will be up the day after Thanksgiving. More will be added through the week. Help us light up our little town! We will keep all posted on any further holiday changes.

All regular services are back including fax and copying. Pick up service is still available. Patrons can call or go online and place a Hold on any items they wish to check out. Items will be ready and waiting to be picked up at the main desk. We ask that patrons continue returning items to the book drop on the side of the building to cut down on hand to hand contact.

Board Meetings are open to the public and held the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to join us at the Community Center located at 140 N Main St., in Springboro, PA. If you plan to attend, please wear a mask and practice social distancing standards by maintaining at least six feet of separation.

Pre-school story time will continue to appear on our Facebook page. Our “Ms Ginger” has had a great response to the virtual story time posted every week. The videos are designed to help kids with all the activities they participate in at school. They have been getting hundreds of views. Kids and parents can safely participate and/ or sing along without leaving home.

We invite locals to join a “Friends of the Library” group. This group assists the library in many ways including fund raising.

A great way to donate to your local library is through smile amazon. Any time you order from Amazon, go to smileamazon.com and choose Springboro Public Library as your charity. A small percentage is donated to us. Every donation helps and is greatly appreciated!

Book memorials are another great way to help the library. Consider dedicating a book to a loved one or recently passed family member. A dedication will be placed at the front of the book you choose. Or we can choose a book for you based on your submitted topic. The holidays are a great time for this!
