Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE - Stone Memorial Library is offering Curb side Pickup Service! You may reserve books online using our “holds” feature, or by calling us at 814-587-2142 and make your request over the phone during our updated business hours. Please note that all online hold requests will not be filled until the next business day. We will contact you to schedule a pickup time once we have filled your request. All pickups will be bagged and ready for you in front of the library at the agreed upon time. We are unfortunately not able to offer any service inside of the building at this time, including computer access, materials browsing, or copying. We do still provide free WiFi, which can be accessed outside of our building. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 814-587-2142. We are willing to work with you during this time and do what it takes to get our books in the hands of those who want to read them!

We reopened our doors for limited library services on Monday, August 17. Masks will be required for entry into the library. If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons, we ask that you continue to use our Curbside Pickup Service option, which we will continue to offer. Appointments will be recommended, especially for the use of our computers. Computer use will be limited to a maximum of 45 minutes, and we ask that our patrons try to limit their browsing time to a maximum of 15 minutes. We also graciously ask that our patrons continue to respect social distancing while in the library. If you have any further questions about our limited library services, please feel free to give us a call at 814-587-2142. In spite of the limitations, we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

As always, we thank our community and our patrons for their support during this unprecedented time. We look forward to speaking with you and seeing you again in whatever way we can.

Springboro Library happenings

- A Gold Level Library -

SPRINGBORO - We are back to normal operating hours and back to full service with “Covid restrictions”. Patrons can finally come in and browse for their selections. We are fully stocked up on disinfectants. Masks are still required to enter the building. And we do have a six foot distancing policy. Also, returns should still be made at the book drop on the side of the building to prevent hand to hand contact as much as possible. Items will continue to be quarantined upon return before they go back to the shelves.

All online services will continue. Inter-library loans for books from other libraries are suspended. In addition, please return all books from other libraries to their home library.

Take advantage of our Universal classes and get some free education credits! All classes are free. They are great for anyone interested in learning a new career or advancing knowledge of a favorite hobby? Check out our website’s Power Library as well. You can find many resources for research and writing. This is great for students and authors. All you need is a library card.

We have a great selection and variety of new books. Our latest fiction titles include books from from Matthew Quirk, Louise Erdrich, Graham Moore, Sarah J. Maas, and James Grippando. New non-fiction titles include: “Last Witnesses”, “The Create Your Plate Diabetes Cookbook”, “South America” and “John Adams Under Fire”. Some new movies include “Little Woods”, “Body Cam” and “The Burnt Orange Heresy” . Check out the list posted on our window by the front door.

Pre-school story time will continue to appear on our Facebook page. Our “Ms Ginger” has had a great response to the virtual storytime posted every week. The videos are designed to help kids with all the activities they participate in at school. They have been getting hundreds of views. Kids and parents can safely participate and/ or sing along without leaving home.

Remember, it is free to get a library card for kids and adults. There are many benefits. Take advantage of all your library has to offer. We aim to provide the most current educational materials as well as entertainment media and programs for our community.

There are many ways to support your local library. Did you know you can give to Springboro Public Library through Amazon. Just go to Amazon Smiles and type us in as your charity. We are also a part of Crawford Gives. And anyone can donate with a book memorial. If you would like to dedicate a book to a loved one that has passed, see our Director during library hours.

We would like to thank all of those who came to our last book sale. It was a success thanks to our loyal patrons and community members. We’ll keep you posted on when our next one will be.
