Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE - Stone Memorial Library is now offering Curbside Pickup Service! You may reserve books online using our “holds” feature, or by calling us at 814-587-2142 and make your request over the phone during our updated business hours. Please note that all online hold requests will not be filled until the next business day. We will contact you to schedule a pickup time once we have filled your request. All pickups will be bagged and ready for you in front of the library at the agreed upon time. We are unfortunately not able to offer any service inside of the building at this time, including computer access, materials browsing, or copying. We do still provide free WiFi, which can be accessed outside of our building. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 814-587-2142. We are willing to work with you during this time and do what it takes to get our books in the hands of those who want to read them!

The last day to log your progress for our Summer Reading Program “Imagine Your Story” will be August 10! Prizes will be awarded during the week of August 17.

We are also happy to announce that we will be reopening our doors for limited library services on Monday, August 17. Masks will be required for entry into the library. If you are unable to wear a mask due to medical reasons, we ask that you continue to use our Curbside Pickup Service option, which we will continue to offer. Appointments will be recommended, especially for the use of our computers. Computer use will be limited to a maximum of 45 minutes, and we ask that our patrons try to limit their browsing time to a maximum of 15 minutes. We also graciously ask that our patrons continue to respect social distancing while in the library. Our Virtual Storytimes will continue through the end of our Summer Reading Program. On Tuesdays at 10 am, Ms. Julie will be performing her always fun Story Hour geared towards preschoolers and families, including themed stories, crafts, and snack suggestions. We will also be kicking off our “Read Aloud Rendezvous” virtual story times for older children. Join us again via Facebook on Thursdays at 2 pm as Ms. Julie reads stories appropriate for our “growing readers” - ages 6 to 8 years old - and on Tuesdays at 2 pm as Miss Lauren reads stories for the tweens - ages 9 to 12 years old. During this exciting 48-hour giving opportunity, a portion of the prorated match pool will be added to each donation you make to Stone Memorial Library. Springboro Library happenings

- A Gold Level Library -

SPRINGBORO - “SPL” will return to our regular opening hours on August 17th! Our library will be opening at noon Monday through Friday and at 9 am on Saturdays. The hours will be posted at the front door.

The summer reading program is still going on!! The program runs through August 16th. But anyone can still register and earn a few prizes. Everyone needed to register online this year. Books must also be reserved online. If you are not able to register online, please call us to make arrangements.

The theme this year is “Imagine Your Story” and features all the imaginary creatures such as gnomes, fairies, dragons and characters that are consistently popular entertainment. However, any topics that have been read from other books count towards earning prizes.

We have some great prizes this year for all ages. There are games, toys, totes, adult and teen coloring books, journals, travel mugs and much more.

When visiting the library for pick ups, please adhere to our state /city regulations by wearing a mask and keeping your distance. Patrons can pick up their check outs just inside the main entrance of the library. All returns must be put in the book drop on the side of the building. They will be quarantined and sanitized before going back into circulation.

New books have finally arrived!! We now have two new orders in and on the shelves. The latest fiction titles include books from C. J. Box, David Baldacci, Sarah J. Maas, Louise Endrich, and Chris Bohjaian. New non-fiction titles include: “The Power of Bad”, “The Lincoln Conspiracy”, “Almost Keto” and “Rust - A memoir of Steel and Grit”.

Some new movies should be in this week as well. And our next order has already been placed. Check out the list posted on our window by the front door.

And remember, pre-school story time will be on our Facebook page during the lock down. Our “Ms Ginger” has had a great response to the virtual storytime posted every week. The videos are designed to help kids with all the activities they participate in at school. They have been getting hundreds of views. Kids and parents can safely participate and/ or sing along without leaving home.

Until August 17th, there will be no faxes or copies done here at the library. We are also not able to use the public computers yet. These services will resume as soon as we get the green light from Crawford County.

All online services will continue. Take advantage of our Universal classes and get some free education credits! All classes are free. They are great for anyone interested in learning a new career or advancing knowledge of a favorite hobby? Check out our website’s Power Library as well. Until September, we are purging the shelves to make room for new materials. Stop by and check out our front room for best sellers. Some used books, movies, magazines and CDs will be given away also.
