Stone Memorial Library
CONNEAUTVILLE - Stone Memorial Library began curbside Pickup Service on June 15, 2020. You may reserve books online using our “holds” feature, or by calling us at 814-587-2142 and make your request over the phone during our updated business hours.
Please note that all online hold requests will not be filled until the next business day. We will contact you to schedule a pickup time once we have filled your request. All pickups will be bagged and ready for you in front of the library at the agreed upon time.
We are unfortunately not able to offer any service inside of the building at this time, including computer access, materials browsing, or copying. We do still provide free WiFi, which can be accessed outside of our building. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at 814-587-2142. We are willing to work with you during this time and do what it takes to get our books in the hands of those who want to read them!
All currently checked out materials have an updated due date of July 1. You may return materials in our book drop or choose to place them in the plastic bin we will have placed outside on the sidewalk in front of the library while we are on site.
We also kicked off our Summer Reading Program on June 15, as well! Readers of all ages are encouraged to participate. This year we have a new online platform where you can track your reading progress, compete for prizes, and participate in other activities. You can sign up for an account with our Summer Reading Program online at: http://stone.readsquared.com There is no cost to sign up.
No internet access? We are also offering a paper participation option. Please contact us at 814-587-2142 to sign up and schedule a time to pick up materials.
We will also continue to host our Weekly Children’s storytime virtually via Facebook with two new additions during the Summer Reading Program! Tuesdays at 10 am Miss Julie will be performing her always fun Story Hour geared towards preschoolers and families, including themed stories, crafts, and snack suggestions.
We will also be kicking off our “Read Aloud Rendezvous” virtual story times for older children. Join us again via Facebook on Thursdays at 2 pm as Miss Julie reads stories appropriate for our “growing readers” - ages 6 to 8 years old - and on Tuesdays at 2 pm as Miss Lauren reads stories for the tweens - ages 9 to 12 years old.

Springboro Library happenings
- A Gold Level Library -
SPRINGBORO - Happy Summer!! “SPL” is now partially open with limited services. We cannot allow anyone into the building. However, patrons can go to our website, click on our catalog, and place holds on books, videos, magazines and audio books. All you need is a library card. We will package your requests and have them waiting for you to stop and pick up. You can also request movies and all other available media from our catalog.
For any patrons that don’t have internet, we will take requests by phone. Book and video lists will be posted on our window, website and also some on facebook. All returns must be put in the book drop on the side of the building. They will be quarantined and sanitized before going back into circulation.
When visiting the library for pick ups, please adhere to our state /city regulations by wearing a mask and keeping your distance. Patrons will be met at the door with their package and cannot come all the way inside.
We will be doing our summer reading program for all ages in July. Sign ups can be done online. Then stop by and get your bag and packet with instructions. The program starts July 6th. Come register anytime and earn prizes for reading! New books for kids were ordered especially for the program. Our theme this year is “Imagine Your Story”.
Our selections will be updated this month. The last shipment came before the lock down in March. Most recent continuing DVD series include the latest season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Big Little Lies: season 2”. The newest videos include, “Scooby Doo: Return to Zombie Island”, “Berenstein Bears: Lend a Helping Hand”, “Midway”, “Sprinter” and “Uncut Gems”. Some recent book titles available are: “Thief River Falls”, by Brian Freeman, “Above The Bay of Angels” by Rhys Bowen, “The other Mrs.” by Mary Kubica and “The Janes” by Louisa Luna. New non-fiction books include: “The Pain Chronicles”, by Melanie Thernstrom, “Food Fix” by Mark Hyman, MD, and “18 Tiny Deaths”, by Bruce Goldfarb.
You can now check out internet access from your library? All you need is a library card and you can get internet for free. Our new “Hotspots” operate through T-mobile and work in conjunction with your cell phone. It’s as easy as going into the settings of your phone to access. The hotspot devices can be checked out like a book, for two weeks. Just another great service provided for our community. Take advantage as soon as possible. Some libraries have a two week waiting list!
And remember, pre-school story time will be on our Facebook page during the lock down. The videos are designed to help kids with all the activities they participate in at school. Small children can safely participate and/ or sing along without leaving home.
Are you interested in learning a new career or advancing your knowledge of a favorite hobby? Or do you just want to earn college credits? Check out our website’s Universal classes. All you need is a library card. All classes are free! There are special interest courses, such as Digital Photography, Babysitting, cooking and accounting on the Universal Class website.
Remember, it is free to get a library card for kids and adults. There are many benefits. Take advantage of all your library has to offer. We aim to provide the most current educational materials as well as entertainment media and crafts for our community.
This month, we are purging the shelves to make room for new materials. Stop by and check out the “Free bin” outside. Some used books, movies, magazines and CDs will be given away.
We have the Poldark series! If you enjoy this PBS special series, we have the books and the videos. We have several of these series including the latest season of “The Crown”. Some other recent titles available are, “Coconut Layer Cake”, by Joanne Fluke, “Golden in Death” by J. D Robb and “The Girls With No Names” by Serena Burdick. New non-fiction books include: “Food Fix” by Mark Hyman, MD, “Washington’s End” by Jonathan Horn and “Open Book” by Jessica Simpson. We also have new media for kids and teens.

New library hours are : Monday and Wednesday, 12:00p.m. - 5:00p.m, Tuesday and Thursday 2:30pm-7:30pm, Friday, 12:00p.m. -4p.m. And Saturday hours are 9a.m. - 1p.m. Closed Sundays.
