CONNEAUTVILLE - On Saturday, February 16, we will be having a Scavenger Hunt for the youth at 10:30 – Noon. After the hunt we will be having pizza for lunch. Please call 587-2142 and sign up for this activity.

Thursday, February 21, at 6:30, we are meeting for our book club. The selection this month is “Carnegie’s Maid” written by Marie Benedict. We hope you can join us. Finally on Thursday, February 28, at 5:00 – 6:30 we are having an Escape Room for teens. If you are interested in any of these programs please call the library for more information and to sign up.

Tax season has arrived. Pennsylvania will not be providing any print forms for you to file. You are encouraged to file online. Federal forms are ordered but have not arrived. We have some PA-40 forms but the supply is limited. Federal forms are ordered. The instruction booklets have arrived but the forms have not. If you need help filling out your taxes Meadville Public Library is offering such help. You need to call them and set up an appointment. Storytime continues on Tuesdays at 10:00. We have a great group of children and caretakers this year! Miss Julie continues to have exciting stories, crafts, and play stations for everyone. Storytime provides a time of getting to know one another better and it is a great time for learning socialization skills for the children.

Our annual “Reading Challenge” for adults began on Thursday, February 7, and run for six weeks. You can sign up and get the reading list at the library. For every book you read you will get a coupon to enter into the drawing for a “Thirty One” bag filled with gift cards and prizes.

The library will begin offering technology classes again. If you are in need of any help with your phone, iPad, or computer skills be sure to call so we can schedule a class for you.

Springboro Library happenings

SPRINGBORO - This month we celebrate Black History month, Valentines Day, Lincoln’s birthday and President’s Day. There are many books to choose from each category for adults and kids.

We have new romance from Beverly Lewis, Karen White and Cindy Woodsmall. Or you can browse the shelves for a classic love story. And if you’re looking for mystery, we have new from Jonathan Kellerman and M.C. Beaton.

Our black history collection has grown this year with many new books. Current displays feature books about Martin Luther King Jr. and Barak Obama as well as fiction by Jacqueline Woodson, Toni Morrison and many more. Our front window features books on the underground railroad as well as stories of black firsts throughout the decades.

Don’t forget to check out our rotating large print collection. We have many new titles in history, romance, mystery, westerns and biography all in a larger, easier to read format.

Join us for Valentine’s Day when we host a cookie decorating party. The fun starts at 6 pm on Thursday the 14th.

On February 21st, we will have our craft workshop night. There will be a kid’s craft as well as an adult workshop. This month’s craft is free for all and starts at 6 pm. Come in and sign up at the main desk. Workshops take place on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Get ready for that special Valentine’s day dinner with one of our many cookbooks. If you are looking for a good low calorie recipe to spice up a meal, take a look at one of our cook books from the Food Network! We also have new magazines with the latest recipes from your favorite chefs.

If you are interested in making a home made gift for your valentine, we have books for sewing, woodworking and many other crafts. Come get inspired!

We have more than just books! You can also borrow movies, magazines, music CDs, play aways or books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

Our children’s corner features books, games, toys and coloring supplies. Join us for pre-school story hour on Saturday mornings at 10am followed by kids craft activities at 11am.

Remember to LIKE us on facebook and check out our website. The website offers a variety of reference materials which are perfect for students of all ages who are writing papers for school or college. The website’s “power library” includes references, bibliographies and related articles on chosen topics. There are also a variety of e-books and free access to universal classes for over 500 subjects!
