CONNEAUTVILLE - Author Amy Bovaird will speak to library patrons on Thursday, May 19, at 6:30 p.m. She is the author of three books.

Amy L. Bovaird is a vision-impaired Christian author and speaker. When she was 28, doctors diagnosed her with Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP)–a degenerative eye-disease that eventually causes blindness. Later, she learned she had Usher’s Syndrome, which causes deafness.

Having taught in Latin America, South East Asia and the Middle East, Amy often features glimpses of these and other cultures in her writing.

Although Amy suffers from a dual disability, she continues to enjoy running, hiking and traveling. She also volunteers with local and national animal rescue organizations. She dips into humor and optimism as she blogs about the challenges she faces as she loses more vision.

Anyone interested is welcome to join in.

We will be hosting a Thirty-One Party on Tuesday, May 8. If you are looking for a gift or need a new tote for yourself, stop in anytime throughout the day to place an order. Part of the proceeds will go to support the library.

On Thursday, May 10, at 11:00 a.m. there will be a free gadget help class. If you have questions about how to use your Smartphone, Tablet, or eReader bring your device to this class for help. Please call to sign up because class size is limited.

Tuesday is storytime at the library beginning at 10:00. Stories, crafts, snacks, and games provide a fun-filled learning experience for everyone. Caregivers and their children are encouraged to join us.

On Saturday, May 12, we will be having our last Lego get together until the fall. It begins at 10:00. So grab a friend and come and build together.

Libraries are a resource for information and a meeting place for the community. If you haven’t visited the library lately you should stop in and see us.
