NS VFD donation could help Conneaut schools in emergency

The North Shenango Volunteer Fire Department is helping the Conneaut School District plan how to address bleeding issues in event of mass attack.
Unfortunately, as the NS VFD notes, each year more and more incidents involving active assailants occur at public gatherings, businesses, churches and schools. As these events are happening, firefighters, EMS personnel and police officers are tasked with responding to protect, mitigate, treat and transport victims of these incidents.

Bio diesel plant plans continue in Greenwood

Greenwood Township held the February public meeting with Supervisor Richard Muir leading the salute to the American flag. Supervisors Doug Stevenson and Ed Papsun were in attendance. Secretary Brenda Braden took the minutes and there were 4 citizens present.
Muir took the floor to make a Proclamation for Greenwood Township, regarding the 36 years of public service given by the late Supervisor, Cecil Stevenson.
Stevenson passed away at 85 years of age on November 26, 2018, after a brief illness.
“Whereas a floating holiday for all hourly employees of the township is proclaimed, in honor and recognition of Cecil Stevenson,…” read Muir, from a parchment paper.

Wallace Avenue Bridge bids go out in September

Conneaut Township held the February public meeting with Supervisors George Greig, Timothy Greig, and Josh Fusco in attendance. Secretary Telce Varee took the minutes and there were 4 citizens present. All stood to salute the American flag.
Supervisor Timothy Greig is up for re-election in 2019.
George Greig spoke about the Wallace Avenue Bridge. Tom Alcorn held a meeting in Meadville in regard to the right-of-ways on land and property nearest the bridge. There are still three out of five land owners who have not committed to the final plans.
George Greig was in possession of mini-plat maps of design plans and specs for the bridge. Everything must be finalized by August and bids will go out in September.
The invoice from the Crawford County Commissioners for the Wallace Avenue Bridge inspection comes in at $224.31.
