Chairman Dick Holabaugh called a recent November Work Session to order at 5:00 pm for the Conneaut Lake Borough Council. Council members present were Bill Eldridge, John Chuey, Mayor Timothy Kaider, Penny Monahan, Dwight Stallard and Mike Krepps. Councilman Billy Paris was absent.
There were 3 citizens in attendance.
No votes were taken by Council on any issues, since the meeting was a Work Session.
Herb Bossard and Ned Hamilton of the CL Borough Planning Commission were also present.
Senior housing concerns
For Public Comment, a man stood to talk to Council about the proposed senior living apartments slated to be constructed at the Finn Ditch and Line Street area.

SOCCER MVPS - Fall sports banquets have been held at Conneaut Area Senior High the past two weeks with athletes in all the fall sports programs recognized for their efforts. See story inside. In photo above are soccer team members, from left - girl’s soccer Offensive Player of the Year Sammi Dales, boy’s soccer Coach’s Award Jarod Krachkowski, and girl’s soccer Defensive Player of the Year Katie Thomas. The girl’s team made history in that they not only had a winning record but qualified for post season playoffs.
Council continues senior housing look

The Conneaut Lake Borough Council met for the November public meeting with Chairman Dick Holabaugh leading the salute to the American flag. Council members in attendance were Billy Paris, Bill Eldridge, John Chuey, Mayor Timothy Kaider, Penny Monahan, Dwight Stallard and Mike Krepps.
Secretary Susan Cunningham took the minutes and there were 8 citizens present.
The motions to pay all the bills and to accept the October meeting minutes both passed unanimously.
For Public Comment, a man stood to remind Council about an ongoing issue he has regarding an alleged unstable tree whose ownership is questionable.

CASH holds Fall Sports Banquets

The Conneaut Area Senior High athletic department held their fall banquets on the following days: boys and girls soccer – Thursday, Nov. 10, girls’ volleyball on Friday, Nov. 11, boys and girls cross-country on Saturday, Nov. 12, and football on Thursday Nov. 17. C.A.S.H. athletic director John Acklin served as master of ceremonies at all of the athletic banquets.
Bob Blake spoke first regarding his boys’ soccer program. This is the first group that he has had all 4 years and he thanks his 8 seniors for being part of the program. In terms of wins and losses it was not a very good year but one highlight was beating Franklin the second time around.
The team finished with a 5-12 overall record and 2-8 within their region.
Jarod Krachkowski was given the Coaches Award for his play on the field and his leadership to the team as well.
