SPRINGBORO - The Springboro Public Library book sale begins Saturday, May 28 to Saturday, June 4 bag day!

Choose from among our selection of books, DVDs, audio books, playaways and magazines for your next exciting adventure! The Springboro Public Library is a perfect meeting place for all ages. You can enjoy our Children’s Corner, surf the web on our public Computers, read the newspapers, use our free Wifi, and more!

This year, the Library is hosting the annual Springboro Memorial Day Homecoming & Alumni Dinner at the Community Building on Monday, May 30, immediately following the service at the Springboro Cemetery.

Dinner: 1:00 p.m. Banquet Fee: $8.50. Reservations due by May 25. Banquet fee is due at the time of your reservation. Remit payment to the Springboro Public Library.

2016 Summer Reading Challenge – June 11th to July 21st - ON YOUR MARK, GET SET...READ! Children, ages preschool to 18, and adults are welcome to participate. Registration begins June 1st. Hours: Monday 12 noon – 8 p.m. Tuesday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday 12 noon – 8 p.m. Thursday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Special Family Events on Saturdays in June and July: Erie Zoo on Saturday, June 11th @ 11 am; Stepping Stones on Saturday, June 18th @ 11 am; Jazzercise on Saturday, June 25th @ 11 am; Tamarack Birds of Prey on Saturday, July 9th @ 11 am; Granny’s Ark during the Sesquicentennial Celebration on Saturday, July 16th @ 11 am at the Springboro Park; Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited. Playscape storytime for Pre-K once a week! Yoga, Crafts, and more for the whole family! Teens and tweens can participate in creating a game board, “Springboro-opoly” in honor of the community’s Sesquicentennial celebration! Adults are invited to attend the “Chat and Read Cafés”. Read and track minutes to Earn Rewards! The more you read, the more chances to earn prizes!

Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE -The last Story hour was held Tuesday May 17, and Miss Julie read “ What A Treasure!” by Jane and Will Hillenbrand. Story Hour families celebrated by having an “Un-Birthday” party. They decorated cut out cookies, blew out candles and wore special crowns.

The Summer Library Challenge registration will begin June 13. The program will run from June 21st thru August 9th. All Story Hour Families and those with school aged children (Pre-K thru high school) are encouraged to join our summer excitement. We have many fun and exciting activities planned. So mark your calendars. A

The book club had their last meeting on Thursday, May 19. The book club will resume sometime in the Fall.
