The reason for the small gathering was to discuss possible police coverage in Linesville.

Verbal crossfire took up a great portion of the Greenwood Township Supervisor meeting on August 2. The subject that saw the township building filled with citizens, once again, was the proposed tires-to-energy plant that might locate in the KOZ Industrial Park in Greenwood.
The plant was formerly called Erie Renewable Energy but had changed the name very recently to Crawford Renewable Energy.
The company would incinerate old tires turning them into a fuel, which would provide power to electric generators.

Two residents of Jeanne Lane, off of Reed Avenue, approached Summit Township Supervisors, during the August meeting, in order to complain about the condition of a neighbor's property.
The plot in question is owned by a Mrs. Flanders and is located toward the end of the lane. It's in deplorable condition, according to supervisors and the residents who came forward.
There are several issues concerning the property, including the dilapidated nature of the house, the overgrown yard and an abandoned vehicle that is parked in the driveway.
