CONNEAUT LAKE - The Community Pride Committee in Conneaut Lake will participate in Make a Difference Day on May 2. Borough Councilman John Chuey explained that registration will take place between 1 and 1:30 and the sprucing up will go on until 4. The downtown region as well as the beach are on the list of things to do that day.

Chuey also announced that on May 18 and 19 flowers will be planted in the various wooden boxes scattered about town. He stressed that volunteers and financial aid are need for this project. Any interested party should contact Grace at Ardis Dress and Beauty at 814-382-2324.

BYOB strip club set to open on W. Center in Conneaut Township Print E-mail

The matter of relocating Wally’s Paradise from Route 6 west of Linesville to West Center Road in the township was the major topic at the Conneaut Township Supervisors March meeting for a second month.

The March meeting of the Conneaut Township Board of Supervisors was opened and the Pledge of Allegiance said. Supervisors in attendance were Tim and George Greig. Supervisor Jake Lisbon was absent.

Secretary Telce McCann took the minutes and there were 10 concerned citizens present, along with a rep from one of the asphalt companies.

The two bids for MC-70 and E-3 were opened, won by SuitKote.

SNOW FUN - These children, a part of the Head Start program, see article page 12, played in the snow earlier this month as they made a pretend motorcycle. Temperatures in the are hit into the 50s and 60s last week in anticipation of spring’s arrival Sat., March 20.

Summit, PennDOT exchange info on Route 618 bridge Print E-mail

Summit Township Solicitor William Walker and Summit Township Supervisor Harry McGrath, who is also the Road Master, recently met with some PennDOT engineers in order to discuss the Route 618 Bridge.

Anyone traveling north on 618 and crossing the bridge is aware of the rather large dip at the north end.

At the last Summit Supervisor’s meeting in February, there was some discussion about the condition of the bridge with the conclusion being that both PennDOT and the township are abundantly clear that there is a settlement issue but, were not totally sure of the reasons why.
