The playground at Fireman's Beach was a main topic once again at the Conneaut Lake Borough Council meeting in July.
Beach Manager Mike Mihoci was in attendance in order to bring Council up to speed about all things beach. Since the playground is located on the beach, it fell under his jurisdiction, so to speak.
Parts of the wooden facility have been in disrepair for some time and Council imparted that they simply do not have the funds to repair or replace it.

Dogs, ducks and pythons were all subjects of the Sadsbury Township Supervisor meeting held on Wednesday, July 14.

SENIOR HELP - Brandon Frisky [C], as his Eagle Scout project, built two benches and two planters that were installed in front the Lakeland/Valley Senior Center in Linesville. The planters add a nice touch of decoration in front of the building while the benches give the seniors, who attend the center, a place to sit and relax while they wait for their bus pickup. Frisky was awarded his Eagle Scout Badge at his Eagle ceremony Sat., June 19. He is a member of Troop 220 at Harmonsburg and is a June 2010 graduate of Linesville High School. Senior Center managers Diana and Tammy join Frisky on one of the benches. He is the son of Mark and Nancy Frisky. |

An erosion problem at Summit Township's Gibson Park will soon be put to rest as plans are currently in the works to fix the area in question as soon as possible.
The topic began at the Township September 2009 meeting, when Supervisor Harry McGrath imparted some details about a water and erosion situation at the park.
During that meeting he had stated that a grant had been used to remedy a problem of water being taken from one side of the road via pipe and ending up in the recreation area.
