Arun Massey of Caring Hands to speak at Fallowfield United Methodist

Welcome to another week!

Missionary Arun Massey will speak at Fallowfield United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 18. Massey works with Caring Hands, a mission in India that reaches out to the devadasis.

Devadasis are temple prostitutes. Arun and his wife, Sobha, run a home for the daughters of devadasis. They offer counseling and food for temple prostitutes and children with HIV/AIDS, but clients must give up prostitution to remain in the program. They also run a boys’ home for the sons of devadasis.

The Masseys teach temple prostitutes to sew in their tailoring center. Through this training they can earn a decent living without turning to prostitution.

None of the girls who have lived at the girls’ home have become prostitutes. The boys in the boys’ home attend school. The Masseys have seen these children transformed by the love of Jesus and the hope he gives them.

Many of these women and children have given their lives to Jesus because of the work the Masseys are doing.

I encourage you to come learn more about Caring Hands and Arun and Sobha Massey.

Kennard United Methodist Church is hosting a lasagna dinner at 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.

The Keelings are singing at Kennard United Methodist at 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 21. The church will be packed, so you might want to come early.

Have a wonderful week. Blessings!
