It’s Crawford County Fair Week in Fallowfield

Welcome to another week! Volunteers met on Tuesday, August 12 to peel, slice, and freeze 7 bushels of peaches. They put the peaches directly into pies and froze bags of sliced peaches to be mixed into summer harvest pies.

This is the biggest week of the year at Fallowfield United Methodist. There are pie bakes at Fallowfield United Methodist Monday, August 18 through Saturday, August 23. Bakes are at 6 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 3 p.m.

We’d love to have your help. You don’t have to know how to make a pie. No one makes a whole pie. We work in stations. You could mix fruit fillings, make crust, roll it out, flute the edges of the pies, or help load and unload the ovens. You’ll have a lot of fun chatting with your neighbors and meeting Christians who want to serve God.

All net profits from pie sales are divided among missions, locally and across the world. God always blesses our church’s efforts to follow Jesus’ command to give to the needy: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38 NIV)

If you’d rather volunteer as a server, cook, or dishwasher at the fair booth, we’d love to have your help there, too. We cannot pull off this annual project without friends from our community.

We really need help at the 5 p.m. shifts at the fair booth. We especially need help on Friday, the 22nd and Saturday, the 23rd. We also need help at the 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. shift at the fair booth on Saturday, the 23rd.

We need help at the 10:30 a.m. pie bake on Monday, the 6 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. bakes Tuesday, the 10:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. bakes Wednesday, the 10:30 shift Thursday, and the 6 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 3 p.m. bakes Friday.

We desperately need help cleaning up the church at 10 a.m. on Saturday, the 23rd. That’s when we do our deep cleaning of the kitchen and baking areas.
