CONNEAUTVILLE - The book club is starting back up this month, September 21, at 6:30 pm. The book is called “ the silent sister” by Diane Chamberlain. It’s a tail about a woman who has spent her entire life believing that her older sister Lisa committed suicide as a teenager. Now, over twenty years later, her father has passed away and she’s in New Bern, North Carolina cleaning out his house when she finds evidence to the contrary. Lisa is alive.....To find out more come and get the book and join the book club.
Story time is back too! We can’t wait to see all your faces. It begins Tuesday, September 19, at 10 am. There will be crafts, songs, interactive fun and stories with Miss Julie. Please tell your friends and neighbours, anyone with a baby to pre-k is more than welcomed to join.
We also would like to mention that the library is having a Fund-raiser to help with the costs of the unexpected building repairs. We are selling pies and strombolies; they can be purchased at the library. The orders are due Thursday, October 5, and you are expected to get your order near October 24. Thank you for all the support.
We also want to remind everyone that the library is a great resource in the community. Along with books we have DVD’s, magazines, and audio books. We also have computers available to the public and WiFi. In addition to the materials we also offer several programs for everyone in the family.
We have started participating in the Amazon Smile program. If you go to www.smile.amazon.com, and choose Stone Memorial Library, a portion of your purchase will be donated to us. Thank you for your support!
Adults can participate in reading groups and take advantage of Universal classes online with over 500 subjects to choose from.
