SPRINGBORO - 2017 Summer Reading Challenge is underway!!! Events for adults, teens and children as part of the fun.

Every Tuesday through July 29, we have teen activities at the Library at 2 pm. Some activities include birdhouse painting, a library scavenger hunt, beaded jewelry craft and board games. Attending one of these activities will give teens 1 credit for the reading challenge.

Every Thursday adults can earn 1 credit for activities at 2 pm also. June 29 - painting clay pots. Other activities include computer class, aromatherapy craft and jewelry making.

The fun for kids will continue on July 29, at 11 am when we end the summer challenge with the Noah’s Ark Animal workshop.

The library has more to offer than ever! We currently have books, magazines, movies, music CDs, playaways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

Library hours are: Monday 12 noon - 8 p.m., Tuesday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday 12 noon - 8 p.m., Thursday 2 p.m. -8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday summer hours 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. will start on June 24.

With your library card, you can also earn free continuing education credits through Universal Class or access free test preparation and practice exams for high school, college entrance, professional certification and licensing, military and civil service through the Testing & Education Reference Center.

Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE - The Summer Reading Challenge is being held Tuesdays at Lord Mason Park in Conneautville, Pa. Our July/August schedule is as follows: July 18th – Tamarack Wildlife Center (@Rolling Fields Pond); July 25th – Erie Zoo; August 1st – Cooperative games & family picnic with Grand prize and book giveaways.

Our annual book sale will begin on Monday, July 24th and continue through until Saturday, July 29th during regular library hours. We have a large selection of children’s books, fiction, and non-fiction from which to choose.

Coming in August we will be adding another exciting program for children entering kindergarten in the fall. Our first “Kindergarten Boot Camp” will be held August 7-11th from 10:00-12:00 at the library. Pre-registration is required and space is limited to 15 “campers” so you will want to mark your calendars. The week will be filled with activities that will help your child learn what to expect when he/she attends a typical school day. At the end of boot camp, each child will receive a certificate.

Everyone is invited to attend the National Night Out, August 1st, in Lord Mason Park from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Stone Memorial Library will be having a booth set up and would love for you to stop by and see them. This is a fun family event for all ages to help make our neighborhoods safer, better places to live.

In July there will be a program called “ Summer in the Son.” Every Wednesday and Thursday 10 am - 1 pm, at Lord Mason Park for grades 1-5. There is no charge and lunch will be provided. Come Join! Crafts, activities, games and lots of Summer fun!

Also, as part of our summer reading program, the teens and tweens will be meeting Thursday afternoons from 2:00 - 3:30 at the library. This will be a time for reading, building, and of course, SNACKS! Funding for the summer reading programs provided by the Erie/Crawford library district and local businesses. Thank you!
