SPRINGBORO - Sign ups are underway for the 2017 Summer Reading Challenge that will start June 17 and go thru July 29. The theme this year, Build a Better World! Children, ages preschool to 18, and adults are welcome to participate. On June 17 at 11:00 a.m. the event will kick off with a Canvas Painting activity for kids.(5 to 18) All events are free. Due to limited space, pre-registration is recommended.

The library has crafts and activities for the whole family! Pre-K storytime on Saturdays at 10:00 a.m,Teens & tweens activies on Tuesday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. Adult craft & Learning cafes on Thursdays afternoons at 2:00 p.m. And a “Read Away Fines” program open to all ages.

Library hours are: Monday 12 noon - 8 p.m., Tuesday 2 p.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday 12 noon - 8 p.m., Thursday 2 p.m. -8 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturday summer hours 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. will start on June 24.

With your library card, you can also earn free continuing education credits through Universal Class or access free test preparation and practice exams for high school, college entrance, professional certification and licensing, military and civil service through the Testing & Education Reference Center.

Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE - We are excited to begin our Summer Reading Challenge! The theme this year is “Build A Better World”. Be sure to stop in and sign up.

Our first event will be held on June 20, at 10:00 am: Touch- a-Truck. Kids of all ages (and adults) can explore different types of vehicles. Everything from construction equipment, farm equipment, Northwestern REC, and more. Also, there will be stories, games, and other activities.

The Erie County Bookmobile will be visiting on Thursday, June 22, at 10:00 - 11:00 am. Please come and visit this “Literary Legacy”. Each visitor of the bookmobile will receive a ticket to enter for a drawing. Prizes include gift certificates to Eddie’s Footlong Hot Dog’s and a t-shirt also donated by Eddie’s.

We have started participating in the Amazon Smile program. If you go to www.smile.amazon.com, and choose Stone Memorial Library, a portion of your purchase will be donated to us. Thank you for your support!

Funding for the summer reading programs is provided by the Erie/Crawford District and through the generous donations of local businesses. Thank you for caring about our community.

Stone Memorial Library is open Monday & Friday 1 - 6, Tuesday & Thursday 9 - 6, and Saturdays from 9 - 1. You can reach us at 587-2142.

Adults can participate in reading groups and take advantage of Universal classes online with over 500 subjects to choose from.
