SPRINGBORO - – We have a lot going on in May at the Library. Our focus will be on spring and Mother’s Day. Come down and check out our windows with Birds and Blooms and books for Mom. We are celebrating Mother’s Day with featured books to empower, amuse, relax and enlighten. Like us on facebook and you can see our recommended books for Mom.

On May 11, the library will be hosting another fund raising painting party. At 6 pm that evening, local artist, Lynda Proctor will lead a canvas painting event and she will provide step by step instructions on painting a cardinal. A $25 pre-registration fee covers all materials. Call 814-587-3907 for info.

A basic computer skills class will be offered on Thursday, May 25th. Please call for time and to register.

The month will end with our Springboro Community Homecoming banquet on May 29, at 1 pm. The banquet will be held at the Springboro Community Center. The event will begin with a social hour following the memorial day services at Spring cemetery. Dinner is at 1 pm. Reservations and the banquet fee of $8.50 are due by May 24th.

Stop by to peruse the books on display following the “Libraries Transform” theme.

The Adult Book Club - Adults can sign up at the front desk - will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7 pm.

The library has more to offer than ever! We currently have books, magazines, movies, music CDs, playaways and books on CD. We have a variety of materials for the whole family. Patrons are welcome to come in and read or use the internet in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere. In addition, our children’s corner features books, games and toys.

The library offers free access to universal classes for over 500 subjects now! And remember to like us on facebook!

With your library card, you can also earn free continuing education credits through Universal Class or access free test preparation and practice exams for high school, college entrance, professional certification and licensing, military and civil service through the Testing & Education Reference Center.

Library hours are: Monday 12 noon – 8 p.m. Tuesday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday 12 noon – 8 p.m. Thur., 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sat., 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

CONNEAUTVILLE - Happy May! Come on down and check out the new books we have in! Tumble weeds, One perfect lie, Bear ate your sandwich, Two good dogs, and Little blue truck leads the way..and more..Stop by and look! There’s Something for all ages.

This month we have the Book Club on May 11, at 6:30 PM to discus the book “ Killing Reagan” By Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard.

Pre-school Story time is Tuesdays at 10:00 AM with Miss Julie. The last story time for the school year will be May 22. Please come down to listen to some books, make a craft and get a snack!

We also want to mention that last “Lego club” event for the school year is May 13th, and don’t forget to mark your calendar for American Girl “ Garden Party” on June 3.

Adults can participate in reading groups and take advantage of the Universal classes online, With over 500 subjects to choose from.
