David Schaef update: (12/05/23)

I spoke with David yesterday. He had just arrived at the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Erie.

There are still a couple of issues to resolve, and David is optimistic that Encompass has the skills. We didn't speak much of medicine and health, most of the conversation was about our subscribers and the Community News newspaper.

I was much encouraged by the tone of his voice and the idea he was interested in talking about Community News. So, he’s at that, “I want to get back to work” stage of healing.

He talked about his subscribers and a letter he is composing for them. He talked about how to proceed with the newspaper when he gets home.

He said he hopes to be home in 2 weeks.

CSD Kindergarten registration is announced for March

The Conneaut School District will hold its annual kindergarten registration on Wednesday, March 12, at Conneaut Valley Elementary School, and on Thursday, March 13, at Conneaut Lake Elementary School for the upcoming 2014 - 2015 school year.

Times are from 8 a.m - 2:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on each day.

Students must be age 5 before September 1, 2014, to sign up. Parents/guardians must present child’s original birth certificate, record of immunizations, proof of residency, and, if applicable, custody papers.

Immunizations needed include Diphtheria and Tetanus, 4 doses, 4th dose after 4th birthday; polio, 3 doses; MMR, 2 doses; Hepatitis B, 3 doses; and 2 doses of varicella for Chicken Pox.
