The Pachuk Building in downtown Linesville was to have been torn down on Monday, March 30, but that did not happen when all necessary permits were not in place and the demolition was delayed.
A permit from the Department of Environmental Protection had not been approved, thus the no go on the tear down.
Linesville Borough Council met in work session on Tuesday, March 31, in session lasting nearly 3-1/2 hours long to discuss the situation that now has someone offering to renovate the building if owner David Pachuk will sign over the titles to him, this person also offering to pay the back taxes and sewage liens that are outstanding.
This so-called white knight, stepping up at the 11th hour, is a dual citizen with citizenship in America and Canada, whose ties the Crawford County area is the man is a graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville some years ago, has taken other renovation projects under hand, reportedly 15 or so elsewhere, but also including a work in progress in Meadville - the former Huidekoper Mansion.
