The public meeting regarding the future of Conneaut Lake Park set by Crawford County Commissioners for Sadsbury and Summit Townships supervisors, Conneaut School District Board members and the commissioners themselves has been set for Wednesday, July 30, at 6 p.m. at the Conneaut Lake Park Fire Hall.
Mark Turner of the Economic Progress Alliance of Crawford County will explain his group’s vision for the Park among explanations of how the EPACC proposes to pay back taxes and other liens that are owed by the Park which is now run under a new set of Trustees.
The park owes nearly 1-million dollars in back taxes to the four governing bodies including over $631,000 to the Conneaut School District - more than 2.54 mills of taxes.
The unpaid taxes go back to 1997 with the current county commissioners having announced the Park could go up for tax sale at a that could occur in late September or early October.
