David Schaef update: (12/05/23)

I spoke with David yesterday. He had just arrived at the Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Erie.

There are still a couple of issues to resolve, and David is optimistic that Encompass has the skills. We didn't speak much of medicine and health, most of the conversation was about our subscribers and the Community News newspaper.

I was much encouraged by the tone of his voice and the idea he was interested in talking about Community News. So, he’s at that, “I want to get back to work” stage of healing.

He talked about his subscribers and a letter he is composing for them. He talked about how to proceed with the newspaper when he gets home.

He said he hopes to be home in 2 weeks.

Thank You all for your Love and Prayers and Well Wishes.

Stone Memorial Library

CONNEAUTVILLE - We had a great turnout for our fourth Legos at the Library this past Saturday - it was beginning to look a TON like Christmas, but despite the inclement weather several brave enthusiasts trooped out to come build at Stone Memorial, and we had a great time. You can view the kids’ creations on display between now and next month’s meeting!

Please note that Christmas books, movies, and music are all out! Stop by for a craft book and get busy with decorations, or pick up a family classic like Elf or It’s a Wonderful Life. On the carts are books to borrow; by the door are books for sale (leave donation).

The next Book Club meeting will be on January 12, 2017; discussing James Patterson and David Ellis’s thriller Mistress - investigating the possible staging of a suicide...or murder. Pick up your copy between now and then!

Story Hour in December will focus on winter, snow, and Christmas themes - whether or not you attend, please stop by and view our lovely seasonal decorations!

Please note that as winter becomes a concern, Story Hour will be postponed on any day that schools have 2-hour delays. Stay safe and stay warm!

Stone Memorial Library is open Monday & Friday 1 - 6 pm, Tuesday & Thursday 9 am - 6 pm, and Saturday 9 am - 1 pm. Phone number is 587-2142. Like us on Facebook for updates and news, or visit our website @ This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
