The question is asked ...
“What is a Poem”I’ve written poems about tomorrow Also some poems laden with sorrow Other poems about a wonderful day And also, there are some fraught with dismay. Many poems are filled with hope and love With reference to the deity up above Then some have a story difficult to tell Like that of satan and His domain of Hell. It matters not what a poem may mean Be it a story or a dream As long as the words are loud and clear And are like music in your ear. The poet’s poems may have reached its goal If it touches a life or maybe a soul But if you find reading it a pleasure To the poet it will be a priceless treasure. So we keep on writing from dawn to dusk Creating poetry becomes a must It’s not honor that we try to seize As much as it is the readers we try to please. ![]() - Robert Edgar Deitz January 2010 |
