THE VETERAN’S ROUNDTABLE

Come Friday there’s another meeting,
A group of old Vets at the table;
We do this once every month
And will attend if we are able.

All branches of Service are there
Army, Navy and Marine
And programs, with few exceptions,
Are of things we’ve done and seen.

This week we’ll be on a B-29,
Stationed on the island of Guam
And the big bang that was on the horizon—
The calm before the storm.

If you have a question just stand by
Your turn will come next to speak.
These vets may be old, but you soon learn
Their minds are certainly not weak.

I’m proud to be a member
And am sad our ranks are getting thin
Doubt our country’s strength and courage?
