Ode to the Butterfly

Have you ever seen a butterfly
Flutter down from up on high
And settle among the flowers
A labor of love before your eye.

Setting there in the garden
Savoring, the nectar of the flowers
Entertained by a flock of butterflies
There I could sit for hours and hours.

Bright colors flash before my eyes
God’s wonder for all to share
The butterflies outmatch the flowers
With colors far beyond compare.

So now as I sit in a pensive mood
And reminisce of that wondrous day
When there among the vines I sat
And watched the butterflies at play.
