My Question

Just asked the Mrs. a question,
“Are movies different of late?”
The story doesn’t make any sense
The hero’s in for a strange fate.

Cowboys and Indians have disappeared,
Much like the leading ladies’ attire.
There’s little doubt about nature’s gifts
That is, if you so desire.

Whatever happened to Lassie
Or Bambi, another animal friend?
Those Saturday afternoon cartoons
That we hoped would never end.

Are the Gone With The Winds really gone?
Will the Bells ever Toll again?
Is there another Quiet Man in Ireland?
Or Gene Kelly singing in the rain?

In the meantime I’ll rent those old goodies
That I’ve seen many times before.
Some I know almost word-for-word,
Will they ever come out with more?
