Labor Day With John Wayne

Labor Day’s comin’, let’s celebrate
John Wayne has come to stay!
Cowboys and Indians ridin’ and shootin’
More shootin’ than ridin’, I’d say.

When it comes to army or marine
His character’s never out of line.
Ask any chap that’s been there,
He plays his part just fine.

One day he’s in Alaska,
Grizzlies, ice jams and other fun
But in all the years I’ve known him
Never have I seen him run.

And pretty women are everywhere,
He always shows up with the best.
Them what ain’t so beautiful
He always leaves for the rest.

Mr. Wayne, I wish to thank you
For all the hours we’ve shared,
Labor Day’s a TV movie day
And you’ve always shown you cared.
