It’s All In The Cup

The midnight hour has passed
But there is a long night still ahead
And the peace of sleep won’t come
Either in or out of bed.

So I throw back the covers
And stumble out into my kitchen
Where a cup of tea may help
It has before, so why not again
.
A cup of tea may help to sooth
My bones of their constant aches
And tame my wretched raging nerves
In the atmosphere of quiet comfort it takes.

So I sprinkled a little patience
On my internal restless sea
And added a bit of will power to my weary bones
Then sleep returned from my thirst in a cup of tea.
