Home Sweet Home

I have a tendency to wander down life’s pathways
Paths I have quite often walked before
To a place where memories are in abundance
And I can wallow in the accumulation of life’s lore.

I go to places I remember fondly
From high mountains to the rolling sea
Through the plains and across a mighty river
All places held very dear to me.

But as I faithfully follow my path of memories
There is one place that never leaves my sight
It’s the place best known as Home Sweet Home
It’s the only place on earth that feels just right.

When I enter my house in the evening
I kick off my shoes and head for my chair
Peace and serenity soon surround me
And I can think of no place better than there.
