Ending Prep

My bones are getting weary
And my back is always sore
I am in fact approaching the place
Where I cannot take much more.

The life I have lived here
Four score years and several more
Soon I will be reaching an ending
Comes the closing of the door.

My life I lived as wanted
And for sure I got my fair share
If you considered life a gamble
The roll of the dice was more than fair.

And from where old age set us
To review our many lifetime years
Sort out the lifetime's laughter
But do not eliminate the tears.

Now as with time, I older grow
It's best to learn to say goodbye
For the only thing you can be sure of
Sooner or later, we all will die.

To be continued
