Consider ...

Another Day

From here to there and back again
It’s been a long, long way
I’ve traveled on life’s winding roads
For many and many a day
Sights I’ve seen have dimmed the eyes
And turned the hair to gray
But for the wonders I have missed
Please God, another day.

All the things God’s given me
To mention just a few
I’ve felt soft rain upon my face
And seen a mountains view.
I’ve walked along a woodland path
And heard the endless rolling surf.
I’ve watched white clouds cross the blue
And observed God’s wonders on this earth.

I’ve had the sun to warm my bones
And the breeze to cool my brow.
These and all God’s generous gifts
I should repay somehow.
I’ve had someone to love me
And share my journey, day by day
But for the roads I’ve still to tread
Another day, dear Lord I pray.
