The November 3 elections showed interesting results and determined a number of winners in local races.

In Springboro, Philip A. Smith won the race for mayor by a 55-29 vote over Donald L. Cady.

On Springboro council , with 5 seeking four spots, winners were Carol J. Pittsenbarger with 58 votes, Philip O. Smith with 57, Wallace Hyde Jr. with 53 and Crystal Neiswonger with 53. Joseph J. Yates trailed with 38 votes.

Marilyn M. Jurysta won over Kay L. Smith, 56-28, for Inspector of Elections.

Grant, loan to help finance Linesville sewer plant project Print E-mail

The Linesville Pine Joint Municipal Authority will receive $10.6 million in state financing to help cover the costs to a major sewer plant project including construction of a new treatment plant, according to State Senator Bob Robbins (R-50) and Representative John Evans (R-5).

Sparks fly at West Fallowfield, "big stakes" at issue Print E-mail

The Board of Supervisors at West Fallowfield Township held their public meeting for October; Board members present were Cecil Courtney, Ray Peterson and Marguerite Scullin. Secretary Brenda Williams took the minutes.

The public was asked for comments on the minutes and expenditures.

A citizen asked the Board to explain two checks made payable to Supervisor, Cecil Courtney
