Linesville plans Candlelight Walk, Santa visit Print E-mail

A Christmas candlelight walk to remember in downtown Linesville is Friday, Nov. 19 and Saturday, Nov. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. each night and Sunday, Nov. 21 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Stroll amongst flickering candlelight and enjoy the sights and sounds. Stop by for shopping and dining that kick off this joyous season.

Tour the Complex Knickerbocker (free admission) featuring beautiful holiday decorations throughout. A light snack will be served.

The Knickerbocker is a Toys for Tots and local Food Bank drop-off location. They will also sponsor an Original Kate Hilton Painting raffle with proceeds to support The Keystone Blind Association. Sunday tour hours are 1 to 3 p.m. in addition to the Friday and Saturday hours.

There will be a Live Nativity provided by local churches.

Sign up for door prizes at various businesses with local stores open Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A special place to stop is the Treasured Gift store along downtown's main Erie Street where there are hundreds of unique and beautiful gifts to purchase for those special people in your life.

Stop by at the Linesville Historical Society to check out special gifts, displays,and more. A special gift is a membership at just $10 a year, or purchase/give a lifetime membership.

Beautiful holiday music will be provided by local musicians.

Linesville Presbyterian Church Dollar Dinner is Sat., Nov. 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. A Whoppie Pie Sale is scheduled with proceeds to go to "Shoes for Kids." Children's activities are planned for Friday and Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Santa Claus will be at Merry's Hardware and Automotive with a gift for every child who stops by. Photos are available with sponsorship assistance by Marquette Bank Friday and Saturday evening only.

One event set for Fri., Nov. 19 only from 5 - 7 p.m. is a visit and book signing by author Karen Biery with the author to be at The Laughing Duck Bookstore. Biery is promoting her most recent book, Pieces, described as an innocent summer afternoon in the lives of two 11-year old boys that turns into chaos when they discover an Indian burial mound.
