Charges filed in murder cases Print E-mail

Law enforcement officials filed two felony counts each of criminal homicide and burglary in the re-cent deaths of Linesville area couple Tod and Laurie Prenatt in the offices of Linesville District Judge Rita Marwood on Wednesday, June 2.

The charges were filed against Gary C. Wiley, 37, also of the Linesville area. He could face up to 20 years in prison on each of the burglary charges and might face the death penalty in the homicides.

Officials would have to file a motion of aggravated circumstances at or before Wiley’s formal arraignment on the charges with the formal arraignment to take place on Thursday, June 11.

According to reports the hearing could be rescheduled due to conflicts in schedules of court prosecutors, the Pennsylvania State Police and Wiley’s attorney, Gene Placidi of Erie.

Wiley was without a lawyer when in was brought to the Linesville court on June 2. State Trooper Brian Ford filed the charges that were read by Marwood.

Wiley, former owner and operator of Gary’s Auto Repair Service and Towing on the Linesville Road, a couple miles north of Linesville, was then placed in Crawford County Correctional facility without bond. He was arrested in the adult probation offices in Mead-ville where he was being fitted with an electronic ankle bracelet just prior to being released on $100,00 bond on charges of robbing the Linesville Rite Aid drug store, making a bogus $2,500 bank deposit and marijuana possession [31 plants].

State police had been investigating the two murders since April 11.
