George Greig called the August meeting of the Conneaut Township Supervisors to order at 5:00pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. The other Supervisor in attendance was Tim Greig; Jake Lisbon was absent due to health reasons. Secretary Telce McCann took the minutes.

The public had a chance to look over the minutes from the previous meeting. The motion was made by Tim Greig to accept the minutes; motion carried.

Bills and expenditures were also perused by the public. The motion carried to pay the bills as stated.

The oiling of the roads is slow going, due to rain. The township hopes to do more oiling before the snow flies.

The old Conneaut Township garage building is no more. No injuries were reported during the take down. There has been an offer of $100.00 for the old trusses, sold as is.

A Mr. Billy Weaver came and drilled 26 holes for the new building and the permit has been secured. Penelec has been by and marked the electric lines.

Secretary McCann commented that the State Audit is finished and that the auditor suggested the township get fuel quotes if they haven’t been obtained yet.

The Supervisors Greig stated that they had some verbal quotes at the beginning of the year and that Harned (Reed) Oil was the best one.

George Greig explained that in 2007 the township was planning on piggybacking with the State, but found that if it remained independent that it was less money by 2 or 3 cents per gallon.

Tim Greig then asked whether the township needed quotes on sand and gravel and Jim Smith indicated only if the use was over $10,000.00 per year. George Greig said the township was well below that figure.

Carpenter Road was brought up then, regarding the tar and chip. This road has been on the list but more materials and more men are needed to complete the project.

Airport Road was mentioned next, the Supers said that it can’t be brined as of now, due to heavy truck traffic causing the road to turn to powder.

Code Enforcement Officer La- Verne Paraskos was not present at the meeting. There has been an ongoing question as to whether Paraskos was certified to be Code Enforcement O fficer for Conneaut Township or not. She had also been issuing permits for Pine Township, but has since resigned.

Conneaut Supervisors had been attempting to contact Paraskos for comment and to give a statement as to whether she is indeed certified. There were questions as to the validity of permits being issued by Paraskos, as per discussions by the Supervisors.

Paraskos had been Grandfathered in as not being certified, with the condition that she would become certified. However, due to personal reasons, she has not become certified.

Solicitor Alan Shaddinger told Conneaut Township officials that he would look into to it and attempted to contact Paraskos.
