The calendar for next school year has been approved by vote of the Conneaut School Board of Education. School for students in the Conneaut School District - conneaut Lake, Conneaut Valley, and Linesville - will begin Wed., Aug. 30, 2011 and end for students on Wed., June 6, 2012. Teachers will begin school on Mon., Aug. 29 and conclude Thur., June 7, 2012. There will be no school for students on Fri., Sept. 30, an Act 80 Day for teachers. another no school day for students, a teacher's in-service day, is on Fri., Oct. 28. Thanksgiving break is Nov. 24 - 28. Christmas break is Dec. 24 through Mon., Jan. 2. There is no school for students on Mon., Jan, 16, Martin Luther King's holiday and again on Fri., Jan. 20, a teacher's in-service day. Seniors will give their Senior Project Presentations on Mon., Feb. 6, an Act 80. A one-half no school day for students is March 2, a Friday, while Easter Break is Thursday, April 5 - Monday, April 9, Friday, May 25 is a no school day, that part of Memorial Day weekend. Snow make up days are set for Feb. 17, May 11, May 25, April 9 and April 5, in that order. Graduations are set for Friday, June 8, at Conneaut Valley, and Sat., June 9, for those at Linesville and Conneaut Lake high schools. Several field trips and activity trips were approved at the school director's last meeting including Conneaut Lake senior class trip to Ohiopyle on June 8 with the class funding transportation; teachers Peg Jacobs and Aletha Samuels to take up to 10 7th and 8th grade CL Middle School Ecology students to the Erie Zoo at no cost to the school district; Conneaut Valley guidance counselor Melissa Flinchbaugh and 8 teachers to take CV Middle School students to Edinboro University for career exploration day with no CSD costs. |
