Cheryl Krachkowski has resigned her Conneaut School Board seat in Region 1 effective June 8. The school directors accepted the resignation at their June 8 meeting.

Krachkowski was appointed two years ago to fill a vacancy. She will also have to have her name removed from the ballot for election in November.

The school board will now accept letters of interest from residents in Voting Region 1 - Linesville borough, and the townships of Beaver, Conneaut, North Shenango, Pine, and West Fallowfield through June 23.

Interviews will be held on Monday, June 27, with the school directors looking to appoint someone at a July 6 meeting.

Persons interested in being appointed to the position must be at least age 18 and a resident of Voting Region 1 for the past year.

The person appointed will serve through the end of November of this year when someone elected in the November General Elections will be seated to a 4-year term in December.

Letters of interest need to go to the school district's central office.
