| Conneaut school graduations are Friday, Saturday |

The Class of 2010 will hold graduation ceremonies this Friday and Saturday as seniors at Conneaut Valley High School, Linesville High School, and Conneaut Lake High School, in that order, say good bye to their high school years and begin a new life outside the high school setup. Pending final test results close to 53 seniors will graduate at Conneaut Valley High School on Friday, June 11, 2010, at 7 p.m., in ceremonies at the high school. Speakers will include the class salutatorian and class valedictorian. The ceremonies also feature an alumni speaker recalling old times at the school and offering words of wisdom for the future. Judy Panko Jones, a 1982 CVHS alumnus, will be that speaker. The high school band will offer the the music for the processional and recessional. Class officers will introduce scholarship and departmental award winners. CVHS principal Kevin Burns will present the class to Conneaut Schools Superintendent Wendy Szally who will present the class to Conneaut Board of Education President Jody Sperry. Conneaut School Board members Dr. Carol Bocan and Lorri Drumm will present the diplomas. Drumm has a son in the graduating class. Class officers are Evan Duroc Kardosh, president; Troy Eschweiler, vice president; Jessica Poghen, secretary; and Jacob Braden, treasurer. At Linesville High School, graduation for the Class of 2010, will take place on Saturday, June 12, at 1 p.m. Some 86 graduates are expected to take part with the Linesville High School Jazz Band offering the prelude, the High School band playing the processional and recessional. The high school chorus will offer a selection during the ceremonies. The welcome will be given by Ms. Sharon Sielski, high school principal. Student addresses will be given by the class salutatorian, and the class valedictorian. Wes Hershelmann, senior class president, will announce class award winners. Conneaut Schools Superintendent Wendy Szally will accept the class names from Sielski. She will present the class to Jody Sperry, President of the Conneaut School Board of Education. Douglas Parks, assistant principal, will read the class roll with school board member David Schaef to present the diplomas. A tea for graduates, families and friends and faculty will take place in the school cafeteria after the ceremony. Roberta Bullock is senior class advisor and is retiring this school year. The Conneaut Lake High School Class of 2010 will graduate in ceremonies on Saturday, June 12, at 4 p.m. at the school. The high school band will offer the music for the processional and recessional. The high school chorus will offer a choral selection. Senior class advisor is Jeff Hans. CLHS high school principal John Hines will call the roll as diplomas are awarded to the 89 who are graduating. Conneaut Schools Superintendent Wendy Szally will present the class to Conneaut Board of Education President Jody Sperry. Conneaut School Board member Don Ellis, Jr., will hand out the diplomas. Scholarship and department award winners will be recognized. Class officers are Chase Miller, president; Alyssa Willliams, vice president; Breanna Kebort, secretary; and Todd Foister, treasurer. |
