Internet forums are web sites where people get together and post information and comments about topics of common interest to the forum members. Forums are, in short, popular gathering places for people with similar interests.

There are forums based on virtually any area of interest. They are usually sub divided into relevant areas of discussion as well.

It’s kind of an elongated chat. Once you find a forum that suits your particular interest, you create an account for yourself. Usually a username/nickname and an email address is all that’s necessary, but there are always options to add more personal information and a photo or iconic image.

You can look around all you want without an account but if you want to put in your proverbial “two cents” you will need one. You can add to the comments that are already there or start a new thread with your own question or comment. “Thread” is the term given to a series of comments. Some one will make an initial comment or ask a question and others will comment on it, of course the originator can interact with whatever and whoever comes down the pike. All of the entries in a thread will show the title of the originating comment or question.

I made a comment and posted a question to a community forum I recently discovered or rather was pointed to by my friend “Zipper”. EETicket.com or forum.eeticket.com A community minded and well maintained forum for Northwestern Pennsylvania.

There is a good deal of activity in our Western Crawford County sections. Much information and entertaining banter is already posted, especially in the Conneaut Lake and Meadville sections.

I recently posted to the Linesville section, which is not real active, expecting no one to notice. My post got 13 comments and 421 views, plus I was welcomed into the EETicket forum community like I was an old friend.

Even more recently I had a question about Stormwater and Wastewater in Millcreek. I have an advertising project for Donghia Environmental Services. They provide no-dig pipe relining services for residential and business customers. They repair leaking sewer and drain pipes.

The power of EETicket, the Internet and interested local forum members was again demonstrated. That post got 12 comments and 333 views. The comments gave me ideas and information that were of great value to my project and I Thank them for it.
