Summer programs for kids! Valley Summer Expedition kicked off this past week with 46 young people and 24 workers meeting at Lord Mason Park Monday, June 28. Twelve samples of electives were visited by the students in order to see which one is going to be their first choice during the six week program. The program will continue every Monday and Thursday from 10:00 - 2:00 including lunch at Lord Mason Park and will run until August 5.

If you are from Conneaut Valley and want to join the fun but need more information call 587-6070. (Just leave a message if there is no answer because everyone is pretty busy planning for the summer fun!)

Both Springboro and Conneautville libraries continue with their Make A Splash and Make Waves summer programming. Special days at Springboro are Wednesday at 11:00 for Pre-School and Saturday at 11:00 for 5 – 12 year olds. At Conneautville Tuesday at 10:00 is Craft Day. Stop by either library for Summer Reading information.

Conneaut Valley Little League finishes the season but baseball players who are interested in continuing to play this summer are invited to the Springboro Park ball field on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 8:00 for some pickup games.

home-run-clubThis past week the Conneaut Valley Little League (CVLL) enjoyed their end of season picnic at Lord Mason Park. The only league to offer trophies and a banquet for all players, league directors were excited to present their deserving players trophies for a job well done. Additional awards were presented for this year’s“Hita-Thon” fundraiser which brought in a total of $1,697. The winning team – Master Mix – won a Swim and Pizza Party for raising $430 on their own!

Pictured in this week’s news is the newly completed Press Box constructed by Tory Kehl with donated materials from Hobbs Lumber of Edinboro. CV Little League conveyed appreciation to Mr. Kehl, Hobbs Lumber, all of their sponsors, and Daniels Custom Tees for their welcome support of CVLL. The Press Box was completed in time for the All Stars game beginning last Wednesday evening.

Trophies, awards, and upcoming projects were announced as well as an appeal for replacements for Marty and Cindy Hoesch as President and Secretary. The Fall Meeting date will be announced and posted on this group’s Facebook page under their name – Conneaut Valley Little League. Become a friend and keep up with all of their events.

Vacation Bible School at Valley United Methodist Church is coming in July, a Soccer Camp July 5-9 in Springboro and Vacation Bible School at Living Hope Commnity Church are anticipated as well.

Kids - keep your eyes open for signs and notices and join in the summer fun in the Valley!
