In previous articles I’ve written about our general misgivings about change in and around the Valley. So, if you didn’t read the recent notice in the daily paper, Conneautville Borough will have another traffic detour scheduled for 2012 near the Mulberry and Licking Street intersection. If you are interested in the details of this bridge repair, there are large schematic drawings to be reviewed at the Borough Office. Work is scheduled to take place August through October – during the first weeks of school. The first few weeks of school may have their own set of changes, so we Valley residents should be prepared. Additionally, residents on East Main Street need to be prepared for the water project scheduled to begin in April 2012. Yes, you are right! Another disruption in our ordered traffic patterns! Not only that, but digging in the dirt during spring generally produces muddy driving conditions we need to prepare our minds to accept. In general, as I listened to the Streets and Water Report at this week’s Borough Council meeting, I realized we would be having road closures at one end of the Borough or the other throughout the coming months. So be prepared, be courteous and helpful, and realize although we aren’t going to see much improvement above ground; all of the benefit will be below the surface and in your best interest!
